I went to water this morning and saw the lettuce seedlings (click on the pic on the right for a close up — they’re not THAT big yet) were coming up . . . and I realized that I (or someone else? my kids perhaps?) had put more seeds in there than I had thought. When I went to show the kids this afternoon after school, we saw a broccoli seedling pushing its way up through the dirt. By nighttime, there were were four broccoli seedlings (three are barely visible if you click on the pic on the left for a bigger version). And I think the dill is close . . . This is exciting!
wow. looks like you really do have a green thumb ansley!
better go water my seedlings…
Don’t jinx me . . . and them . . . they are VERY tiny and many, many challenges await them in my apartment: overheating? not enough light? my kids knocking them down when they go to open the windows to yell down to other kids in the play area? the unauthorized indoor soccer game, complete with carefully planned kick gone awry? and all that’s ignoring the basic problem of remembering to water them and then also figuring what to do when we’re out of town in a couple of weeks. . . .
I’m seeding today and expecting a lot of cat interest. Sunny windows I have in spades, but our cats may be worse than the squirrels. Or the errant soccer ball.
