It’s Time for a Garden Work Day!

21 Mar

It's Time for a Garden Work Day!

Can you move soil, build a new raised bed (we have the parts) and install sub-irrigation (we’ll have the directions and parts) in our four old beds this Sunday afternoon, 3/23? The more help we have, the faster it will go. RSVP in the comments section!

Help us get ready to plant in April!

I can probably be there after 3pm -ish. I guess I didn’t realize we were doing SI in all four beds. Will there be enough room for the roots in each bed? My recollection is that some are deeper than others…

Definitely enough room — the 4 old beds are all the same depth wood-wise, which I think is about 18 inches, though I’ll be checking tomorrow morning. They are really quite deep. If we don’t, we’ll need even more soil to fill them up. Our estimates were based on 12″ of soil. I haven’t gotten the soil order finalized. I figured it would be best to have the beds ready because we don’t want that many bags of soil piled up, we don’t have space. We can see how it goes this weekend.
