Harden Off Your Tomatoes!

14 May

It’s that time of year…Time to get the tomato plants (that were started inside) ready for transplant!
In general, plants are prepped for transplant by being exposed to the outdoor elements at increasingly longer durations each day for about one week. Start now to get your tomato plants ready to go into the ground next weekend. At first, leave them outside in the shade for just a few hours…Find detailed instructions here.

We hope to hold a transplant event this weekend, on Saturday evening or Sunday, depending on the forecast.  But since it’s going to be in the 70s this week, and Memorial Day is the following weekend, the plants need to be planted.

Watch this space for more info, and get your tomatoes ready to go into the ground!
