It’s Almost Time To Start Tomatoes

9 Feb

The 2020 Seed-Starting Workshop will take place on Friday, March 6th from 6pm to 7pm in the community room. Join us!

At this indoor workshop, we will start seeds for plants — such as tomatoes, peppers, and flowers, that need time to grow — and then nurture them in the window sills of our homes.  In late May or early June we will transplant the baby plants into the CVEarthlab raised beds.

All residents, including those with and those without small children, are most welcome to attend the workshop and plant with us!

How It Works

CVEarthlab gardeners will provide non-GMO, organic vegetable and flower seeds, organic potting soil and guidance.

You bring  a small pot or an empty plastic bottle (to convert into a sub-irrigated, self-watering planter).  Donations and RSVPs are appreciated.

The final frost is forecast for early April, which means we’ll be able to start prepping outdoor beds and planting snap pea seeds in mid March.

Daylight savings time starts Sunday March 8th,  it’s time to THINK SPRING!
