Hope to see you Saturday! Want to bring something?
Wine or cheese always works..
Saturday was busy in the garden, as plant sale customers picked up herbs and kids transplanted flowers. Today, Sunday, is the last opportunity to pick up unclaimed orders (we dont have room to hold them). We will hold a flower transplanting session around 330/4pm pending interest. RSVP to cvearthlab@gmail.com or post a comment here. Thank you!
Thank you to the generous residents who have made donations and bought houseplants to support the garden. We have sold almost two dozen seedlings! While there are still some plant seedlings left, inventory is low. If you are interested in purchasing a plant, please act quickly.

Our community and educational garden, CVEarthlab, is self-funded. Since the pandemic prevented our usual fundraising events, we are appealing for donations and selling houseplants to fund the 2021 season. If you enjoyed the basil and other garden herbs, vegetables, or flowers this year, consider donating to the 2021 fund.

It’s been too long since we celebrated the garden and the gardeners!
Join your neighbors for a potluck party and fundraiser on Saturday October 3rd. We will celebrate the harvest and the end of a successful season with garden-inspired dishes and start to fuel the next season. Guests are invited to bring a savory dish to share and a suggested donation of $10. per person. CVEarthlab members: Please bring annual dues along with a dish.
A community garden needs everyone’s commitment to keep it going strong! Most of the garden costs relate to replenishing and maintaining safe soil. Learn more about where the money goes, as well as other donations and help needed on a regular basis, here. Get recipes and see photos from previous parties here.
To RSVP, send a note to cvearthlab@gmail.com. Thank you.
5pm-7pm Tonight!
Suggested Donation: $10 per person, $25 per family. There’s much that’s new to celebrate. The new snap peas and lettuces and growing tomatoes and basil (most of which we grew from seed!), to be sure, but also:
This is the work of donations and volunteer labor (thanks especially to Lee, Keith, Karin, and Judy for their assistance and supplies this season so far!), so let’s celebrate it!
We need more members to support this amazing, self-funded resource! We ask members to donate $10 per person (or $25 per family) to help us with the costs of keeping our garden safe, functioning, and growing (in addition to the bigger projects above, seeds, plant supports, compost — it all adds up!). We also need volunteers to help water and supply more mulch. Join us to celebrate and learn more about what we do and what we need! Thank you.

Thanks to all the Concord Village residents who participated in Sunday’s Harvest Potluck Garden Fundraiser. It was a huge success!
Over 60 people came out and feasted on dozens of delicious dishes inspired by (and including some) seasonal garden ingredients. Lucky potluck winners include:
-Butterfly plants, arugula and lettuces, cucumbers, herbs and garlic got the most votes for best parts of the garden 2013. (See poll results here)
-Sal Brienza, who won the 50/50 raffle!
-The entire CVEarthlab garden community, which raised an impressive $345. dollars from the fundraising event. (Funds include Sal Brienza’s winnings, which he promptly donated. 🙂 )
Stay tuned for recipes and photos of tasty dishes. Big thanks again to everyone who made this event possible.
